Scrip is a term that means "substitute money"

When Saint James parishioners purchase scrip, they're purchasing negotiable gift certificates that are used just like cash. The scrip is issued by the national and local retailers where many of your organization families already shop. These merchants want to support non-profit organizations, and in return ask you to support them by shopping with scrip at their stores. Saint James parishioners can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, they earn revenue for your organization.

If you haven't tried SCRIP, please consider these prepaid cards.  We have Scrip available for Hy-Vee, Kovac's, Apple Market, and Walmart - everyone buys groceries!  The list of participating stores and restaurants is vast.  You shop there anyway, why not give it a try and help your parish at the same time?  It is so easy!
